FERTILITY
We live today in a world charged with stress. Both TCM and western medicine recognize that stress impacts the immune system, reproduction, and general health. TCM views stress and emotional imbalance as major contributors to the inability to conceive. TCM offers a protocol to alleviate stress and to correct imbalance, identifying and addressing underlying depletion patterns as well as providing an opportunity for a woman to rest, receive nurturing care, learn more about her body, be listened to, and receive healing and guidance for dietary and lifestyle change. Specifically, TCM treatment provides relaxation, strengthens the immune system, increases blood flow to the ovaries and uterus, helps regulate hormones and menstruation, reduces side effects of hormonal treatments, and prepares the body to maintain a pregnancy. In men TCM improves sperm count, motility and morphology. TCM is also a highly effective adjunct to fertility treatment.

PRENATAL CARE
TCM supports your body, mind and spirit, deeply nourishing and balancing your systems and those of your baby, helping prepare you to meet the challenges and joys of birth, mothering and life with energy and wellness. Many discomforts commonly experienced with pregnancy are due to underlying stress and depletion and can be addressed with TCM.

TCM effectively alleviates:

  • Anxiety
  • Backache
  • Anemia/fatigue
  • Nausea
  • Heartburn
  • Constipation
  • Sciatica
  • Joint pain
  • Headaches
  • Swelling
  • Hemorrhoids
  • Varicose veins
  • Poor sleep
  • Breech presentation
  • Preterm labor/stalled labor
  • Carpal tunnel syndrome
  • Allergies/sinus congestion
  • Pregnancy induced hyptertension

TCM also helps prevent miscarriage and preterm labor by supporting a woman's system where it is weak, helping strengthen the body's capacity to hold baby in.

LABOR AND BIRTH PREPARATION

TCM assists in the ripening process as a woman approaches full-term. TCM treatment helps relieve anxiety about birth and the tremendous life change a baby brings. It encourages a shift of energy from holding baby in to letting go, along with thinning of the cervix, dropping and engagement of baby, calming of the mind, emotional readiness, and communication between baby and mommy's body.

Craig also helps women prepare for a healthy, empowered birth through Yoga and Massage for Labor workshops, co-taught with his wife Kari and offered every other month. In this workshop, expectant couples learn an invaluable array of tools to relieve fear and labor pain and support birth through essential massage, yoga, relaxation and breath techniques (please see www.WelcomeOm.com for dates and details).

POSTPARTUM CARE

Large numbers of women suffer from low energy and postpartum mood disorders, often impacting their confidence and joy in mothering, bonding with baby, milk production, and relationship with their partner. TCM views these issues as direct results of the stresses of childbearing on an already stressed system. As such, it addresses the internal imbalances, empowers the immune system, and helps resolve conditions such as:

  • Emotional imbalance/depression
  • Fatigue
  • Constipation/urinary problems
  • Hemorrhoids
  • Low milk supply
  • Engorgement/acute mastitis
  • Muscle and joint aches
  • Hand and wrist pain
  • Cold and flu

INFANT AND CHILD HEALTH
TCM recognizes that babies inherit aspects of their parents' energetic systems. This, coupled with stressors during gestation and birth, can lead to babies and young children experiencing a number of uncomfortable conditions, which can be gently and easily treated with TCM. These conditions include:

  • Eczema and other skin irritations
  • Constipation
  • Reflux
  • Asthma/respiratory disorders
  • Cold and flu
  • Irritability
  • Hyperreflexia
  • Ear infections
